This role leads shipping operations, manages carrier relationships, and coordinates inbound logistics from suppliers in partnership with Procurement to support uninterrupted supply and customer fulfillment. The Logistics Manager serves as the primary owner of logistics-related customer issues, including shipment delays, damages, cold chain, documentation errors, and delivery discrepancies. This role drives root cause analysis and implements corrective actions to improve service levels and reduce recurring issues. Operating within a regulated environment, the position ensures all transportation activities comply with FDA, QSR, ISO, and applicable import/export requirements, including customs coordination and proper documentation. The role partners closely with the Warehouse Operations Supervisor to ensure seamless handoff between inbound transportation, receiving, and outbound distribution, while maintaining clear accountability between functions. Through strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision-making, the Logistics Manager enhances delivery performance, controls transportation costs, and strengthens overall supply chain reliability.Key DutiesMajor Duties and Responsibilities:Lead all outbound shipping operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of finished goods to customers and distribution partnersCoordinate inbound logistics from suppliers, partnering with Procurement to ensure timely material delivery and resolve transportation-related issuesManage carrier relationships, including parcel, LTL, FTL, and international freight providers, to optimize cost, service, and delivery performanceNegotiate freight rates and evaluate carrier performance based on key metrics such as on-time delivery, cost, and service qualityOversee import/export activities, including coordination with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely clearance and compliance with trade regulationsEnsure all shipping and transportation activities comply with FDA, QSR, ISO, and company policies, including proper documentation, labeling, and traceabilityOwn and resolve logistics-related customer complaints, including late shipments, damages, and delivery discrepancies, ensuring timely communication and resolutionConduct root cause analysis on shipping and transportation issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve performancePartner cross-functionally with Warehouse Operations, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality, and Manufacturing to align logistics activities with business needsMonitor and report on key performance indicators, including but not limited to on-time delivery, transit times, freight costs, carrier performance, and complaint trendsIdentify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across logistics operationsEnsure accurate and timely system transactions within ERP and shipping systems related to transportation and shipment trackingLead and develop shipping personnel, setting performance expectations and fostering a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvementOther Duties/Physical Requirements:Ability to lift on a daily basis, up to 75 pounds of supplies or components.Ability to walk up and down flights of stairs throughout the workday in a multi-location facility.Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, reach, stoop, lift, bend, push and pull carts and utility bins throughout the course of the work shift.Ability to work inside refrigerators and freezers with the temperature ranging from 2C to -80C.Must be able to wear protective equipment (lab coats, safety glasses, latex gloves, and hair nets).Must be able to analyze, concentrate and interpret processes routinely through the course of the work shift and remain focused in a fast-paced open environment throughout the course of the workday.QualificationsMinimum Education or Equivalent Experience Required/Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, Biology, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field, plus 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, operations, materials management, distribution, or a regulated industry environment; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Experience leading teams, processes, or projects in manufacturing, operations, inventory management, materials management, logistics, or supply chain functions.Experience working within a regulated environment, including GMP, FDA, ISO, quality, compliance, or operational procedures.Experience utilizing ERP, inventory, manufacturing execution, quality, or operational systems to support business processes and decision-making.Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues through root cause analysis, corrective actions, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive operational performance, process improvements, inventory accuracy, quality, service levels, or compliance outcomes.Experience partnering cross-functionally with Planning, Procurement, Quality, Operations, Materials Management, Engineering, Customer Support, or related functional teams.Knowledge of logistics and transportation principles, including inbound and outbound shipping, carrier management, freight coordination, and order fulfillment, or demonstrated ability to develop proficiency in these areas.Knowledge of or ability to develop proficiency in domestic and international shipping requirements, including customs documentation, import/export processes, freight forwarders, and transportation regulations.Experience with or demonstrated ability to develop proficiency in cold-chain logistics, temperature-controlled shipping, packaging, and monitoring requirements.Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support shipping schedules, carrier coordination, and issue resolution.Competencies Required or Preferred:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.High need and proven ability to set and accomplish goals to deliver results.Proactive, energetic, self-starter.Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills;
